PROPER HAND WASHING
TECHNIQUE
1. Wet hands with water
2. Apply enough soap to coverall hand surfaces

3. Rub hands palm to palm

4. Right palm over left dorsum with interlaced fingers and vice versa

5. Palm to palm with fingers interlaced

6. Backs of fingers to opposing palms with fingers interlocked

7. Rotational rubbing of left thumb clasped in right palm and vice


versa
8. Rotational rubbing, backwards and forwards with clasped fingers
of right hand in left palm and vice versa
9. Rinse hand with water

10. Dry hands thoroughly with a single use towel

11. Use towel to turn off faucet


HAND WASHING: PROPER HAND
CARE
ALWAYS wash hands with soap and water
when visibly soiled!
The procedure should take 40-60 seconds
Do not routinely wash hands with soap and
water immediately before and after using
alcohol based hand rub
Do not use hot water to rinse hands
After hand washing, let hands dry
completely before putting on gloves

Keep natural nails short

1. Apply a palm full of the product to a cupped hand,
covering all surfaces
2. Rub hands palm to palm
3. Right palm over left dorsum with interlaced fingers and
vice versa
4. Palm to palm with fingers interlaced
5. Backs of fingers to opposing palms with fingers
interlaced
6. Rotational rubbing of left thumb clasped in right palm
and vice versa
7. Rotational rubbing, backwards and forwards with clasped
fingers of right hand in left palm and vice cersa
