Hands-on activity

John Dewey is often seen as the

proponent of learning by doing
Inquiry Based Learning rather than learning by
passively receiving. He believed
that each child was active,
inquisitive and wanted to
explore.

All students become familiar

C- Lesson Plan

- Objectives should follow Blooms

levels.
- Objectives should be put according to
higher level of thinking.

- So I could have added to the objectives

students will be able to:
Name the 4 seasons.
Differentiate the characteristics of each of
the 4 seasons
A new objective in which students will
design a model of one of the four season
they learnt.
C- Lesson Plan
Motivation

- Classroom management wasnt

effectively maintained.

- As we all know, every child is different,

so every child is motivated in a certain
way. (not all students were interested
in the IBL done at first)

- Groups werent divided properly

- Every member in the group should

have a role, a task or a responsibility to
handle (which wasnt the case in my
C- Lesson Plan

Presentation and application

- My hands-on activity wasnt well discussed,

students didnt know what to do so I had to explain
it in every group

- Because of the lack of instructions, we skipped

the presentation part of the work at the end of
the activity. Instead I could have put the steps
on the board to follow them.

- In the application part, a group didnt totally

finish
his work.
C- Lesson Plan

Evaluation of my hands-on activity

wasnt done perfectly, students
didnt present why they chose each
of the clothes in a specific season.

Here, students could have shared

their real life examples and their
experiences in order for them to
explain their choices.
D- Assessments considered

Evaluation and closure

- The evaluation sheet of this lesson

was a homework to be done at home.

- In addition to the homework, I could

have done a rubric to evaluate the
understanding of the students, the
group work and the participation

The closure was a recapitulation

of everything in a little
PowerPoint with a true or false
quick questions.
Observer will choose out of 5 points ( 1 the lowest grade
to the highest 3 points)

Characteristics Points ( 1 to 3)
