According to Laus (2008) book entitled End
ignorance and end worries, investment has
nothing to do with how much you have but to
become financially educated. Laus
recommends the readers to first invest in
knowledge rather than being ignorant about
it.

Zucchi (n.d.) defined financial literacy as the


confluence of financial, credit and debt
management and the knowledge that is
necessary to make financially responsible
decisionsdecisions that are integral to our
everyday lives.

In article entitled Teaching Investing to


Teens, Jean Folger (n.d.) discussed the
various ways in investing and how money
grows using the teens lenses. Folger tackled
the various types of investment, risk
management, and fundamental and technical
analysis. Folger said that investing is an

Llewelyns (2012) study entitled Financial Literacy of College
Students and the Need for Compulsory Education reveals that
college students need an improvement with regards to personal
finance.
Chen and Volpes (1998) An Analysis of Personal Financial
Literacy among College Students reveals that less
knowledgeable students tend to hold wrong opinions and make
incorrect decisions.
Financial stress, and its associated negative health and
academic outcomes, is a serious concern for college students
today. While the effects of stress have been well documented by
prior research, factors associated with financial stress among
college students have not been adequately explored.
Responses from the 2010 Ohio Student Financial Wellness
Survey were analyzed using proportion tests and multivariate
logistic regressions. The results show that financial stress is
widespread among students 71% of the sample reported
feeling stress from personal finances. (Heckman, et al., 2014)
