The Mangrove park promoting sustainable eco-tourism in Ibajay, Aklan was discovered in 1996 by a SEAFDEC researcher and further developed by the local government starting in 2008 when they recognized its potential for eco-tourism. Located in the Bugtongbato-Naisud basin about 1 hour from Boracay, the 44.22 hectare mangrove park was declared an eco-tourism park in 2009.
