Be your best for the world. Be like
the sunset.
1. Believe it and you will
see it.
I started out in life, as most of us
do, holding the maxim I wont
believe it., till I see it. Yet the more
I worked for the Geographic the
more I realized I had it backwards.
That the way it really works is I wont
see it till I believe it. Thats really
the way life works.
Believe confession of trust
John 11:21-27 Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you
had been here, my brother would not have died.
But even now I know that God will give you
whatever you ask of him." 23 Jesus said to her,
"Your brother will rise again." 24 Martha said to
him, "I know that he will rise again in the
resurrection on the last day." Jesus said to her, "I
am the resurrection and the life. Those who
believe in me, even though they die, will live, and
everyone who lives and believes in me will never
die. Do you believe this?" She said to him, "Yes,
Lord, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son
of God, the one coming into the world."
John 20:24-29
But Thomas (who was called the Twin), one of the
twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the
other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord."
But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the
nails in his hands, and put my finger in the mark of
the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe."
A week later his disciples were again in the house,
and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were
shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said,
"Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put
your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your
hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe."
Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"
Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you
have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen
and yet have come to believe."

 2. Recognize abundance
Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not
reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful
giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing
in abundance, so that by always having enough of
everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.
(2Cor. 9:7-8).

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out

into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.
Simon answered, "Master, we have worked all night long
but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down
the nets. When they had done this, they caught so many
fish that their nets were beginning to break.
(Luk 5:4-6)
We believe in the paradigm all the
time a world based on fear,
scarcity, and competition.

But it wasnt what nature was showing

me. Nature was showing me incredible
beauty.

photographer will find it and the rest
of you will be hopeless losers.

Dont mistake abundance for
perfection.

Dont mistake abundance for

material abundance.

Abundance does not mean having

everything at my disposal.
To allow myself to fill with
gratitude at everything I see
through my lens. Thats the
connection I seek and when I can
achieve it, I honestly wouldnt care
if I found Id forgotten to load my
camera with film.
 3. Look for possibilities
I was about to give up when a
voice inside me said come on
Dewitt, whats here to celebrate?
I know this wasnt how you planned
it, but whats right with this
situation. Where are the
possibilities?
4. Unleash your energy to
fix whats wrong
By celebrating what is right,
we find the energy to fix
whats wrong.
 5. Ride the changes
the awesome change curve we hear
so much about, the phenomenal rate
of change in our society, was really my
ally. In fact, if I viewed it from just
a slightly different perspective, it
isnt a change curve at all. Its a
possibility curve change is
possibility. The times of change hold
the most potential.
 6.Take yourself to your edge
From the Video:
if I really wanted to soar, that was
the edge I had to pushthat edge
in each of our lives between
success and significance. Could I
do that? Could I trust myself, my
values and my vision enough to step
out beyond my own edge?
 Success to significance
Drive fear passion - change
opportunistic strategic

Insight:
the edge in Yoga, its defined as
the point of intensity before the
pain. The point of maximum of
aliveness and attention. Indeed,
the edge is the central issue of this
discipline: to stay there with
consciousness and compassion and
to follow it wherever it goes.
7. Be your best for the world
Its that subtle shift between
pushing ourselves to be the best in
the world and allowing ourselves to
be the best for the world.

Its not an easy shift, but every time

Id lose faith that I might be able to
do it, Id meet someone who had, and
that would serve as a touchtone to
show me that it was possible.
Insight:

The ideal of being ones best for the

world suggest an attitude of service;
an ability to offer our very best
without worrying about how it is
received.
INSIGHT:

Im coming to think that its not so

important that we make a difference,
but that its very important that we
all make a contribution.
 Our joy has to be in the very act of giving.
Our side is to make the contribution.
