What gets you up in the

morning?
What floats your boat?
What drives you?
What/Who pushes your
button?
Who pulls your chord?
For whom does your heart
beat?
The State of My Spirit

I arise with amazement at the presence of the Holy One.

I arise with gratitude for life.
I arise with hope that all shall be well.
I arise with courage to meet what will be difficult.
I arise with conviction to do what is life-giving.
I arise with eyes ever alert for beauty.
I arise with openness to greater truth.
I arise with desire for continued transformation.
I arise with compassion for the hurting ones in the cosmos.
I arise with grief still settled in my spirit.
I arise with eagerness to write with depth and quality.
I arise with a sense of kinship with all whom I love.
I arise with respect as others mentor and deepen my vision.
I arise with determination to make good choices in using my
time.
I arise with willingness to help those who will need my care.
I arise with hesitation as I think about pain that may come.
I arise with longing for even greater inner freedom.
I arise with happiness, knowing I am invited to live life fully.
I arise with joy for the grace of our vocation.
I arise with love for the Holy One, my Intimate Companion.

passion
Passion is the fuel which sets us on fire.
Passion is a gravitational force which pulls
you towards achieving your potential.
It is the emotional energy you bring into your
work or your life.
It is the spiritual energy to do what you love
to do and doing it for the people you are
called to serve.
Live the moment
Imagine this scenario: There is one bank that
credits to your account each morning an
amount of P86,400.00, carries over no balance
from day to day, allows you to keep no cash
balance and, every evening, cancels whatever
part of the amount you had failed to use
during the day. If you knew of such a bank,
what would you do? I am sure you would draw
out every cent to make you happy and
satisfied.
Brace yourself, but, everyone does have such a
bank. Its name is TIME.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400
seconds. Every night, it writes off a lost
whatever of this time you have failed to invest
for good purpose. It carries over no balance,
You cannot use tomorrow whatever time you
didnt use today.
Each day, it opens a new account for you. Each
night it burns the records of the day. If you fail
to use the days deposit, the loss is yours. You
must live in the present of todays deposit.
The clock is running. Make the most of today.
Once you find your passion in life,
you have found your soul's purpose.
It's passions that drives you beyond the
ordinary.
There is no end. There is no beginning.
There is only the infinite passion of life.
Action Steps to Ignite Your passion

1. Everyday ask yourself what

excites you and feels good to
you. Follow the delights of your
heart by doing at least one thing
that excites you.
2. Dialogue
with your
soul. Take
time to seek
your passion
and purpose
through
silence,
retreat and
journal
writing.
3. Reach out to others you respect
for their passion. If you surround
yourself with passionate people of
the same interests you will feed off
their energy making you more
passionate.

mindfulness
What gets you up in the
morning?
"Paying attention"
How much of the time are you
really paying attention to what's
happening in your life as opposed
to thinking about
imagining possible futures,
acting out habitual patterns
reacting to people and situations based
on old habits of perceiving, thinking,
feeling, and behaving?
All of us have our habitual patterns, our
vulnerabilities to automatic reactions
based on past experiences of hurt, our
"buttons" that can get "pushed."
This is particularly true when we are
already stressed and/or in a hurry.
"On purpose"
It takes a conscious decision, and
effort by one's mind and brain, to pay
attention to what's happening in the
present. [
Too often we're on "auto pilot."
"In the present moment"

Most of us, most of the time, are

absorbed in memories of the past or
visions and plans for the future.
For most people, it is rare to be aware,
without some amount of distraction or
multi-tasking, of what is actually
occurring in the present moment.
"Non-judgmentally"
This is one of the hardest things to
achieve.
We so often react intensely to our
experiences, particularly unwanted
experiences, and to our initial
responses to them.
"This is horrible!" "How could I do
that?!" "I can't take this any more!"
In contrast, the non-judgmental quality
of mindfulness brings great freedom
to see things more clearly,
to evaluate situations with some distance
from our habitual emotional reactions and
impulses,
to observe emotions and impulses as they
arise without either trying to escape them
or letting them carry us away.
Mindfulness in the way of Jesus
Philippians 2:1-5 If then there is any encouragement
in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in
the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my
joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same
love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do
nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in
humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let
each of you look not to your own interests, but to the
interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that
was in Christ Jesus.
