Troubleshooting Backlights Additional Option
1. Remove CN803 (Main to SMPS) to activate backlights.

80Vdc 2. Check each separate backlight supply at the 8 circled capacitors for approx. 80 Vdc by
connecting the multi meter to CH1 through CH8 side of Capacitors. (Ref. Chassis Ground)

25Vdc 3. If any are missing or low, remove the panel connectors and re-test. If it stays low the SMPS
Board is defective. If it goes up to same reading as the other CH supply voltages with the
connector removed, the Panel is defective (a string of LEDs are shorted)

4. Check the eight Capacitors (C9103 through 9803) at each capacitor pin location closest to the
Ref. Chassis Ground transformer. They should measure approximately 25Vdc. If any read much lower (1 or 2 Volts)
(Voltages Vary with Panel Size) and corresponding CH was ok (80V). The Panel is defective (open string of LEDs).
