Choking baby
Choking is condition
caused by inhalation of a
foreign object that partially
or fully blocks the airway.
How to prevent choking baby

1. Properly time the


introduction of solid
foods.

2. Teach the child not


to put small objects
between their lips or in
their mouths

3. Dont offer hig-risk


foods
4. Carefully evaluate
your childs toys

5. Do not feed babies while


they are sitting in a car
seat or reclining baby seat

6. Do not let the baby alone when


bottle feed
Purposes of Helping choking

1.To remove foreign
objects in baby's throat

2.To prevent pneumonia in


infants

3. to avoid bluish in infants


Procedure of Choking Baby

1. Pick the baby up


2. Turn the baby into back side lying
3. Mildy tap the babys back five times (back slap)
4. Turn the baby into side lying position
5. Chek the babys mouth for some subtances using little
finger
6. If the steps dont work, turn the baby into upside position
7. Use index and middle fingers to push the babys chest five
times with the interval of three second each (chest trust)
8. Turn the baby into side lying position
9. Check again the babys mouth
10. If the steps dont work as well, repeat the steps and call
medical expert

Definition
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a
procedure to support and maintain breathing and
circulation for an infant, child, or adolescent who
has stopped breathing (respiratory arrest) and/or
whose heart has stopped (cardiac arrest).
Purpose
To restore and maintain breathing and
circulation
To provide oxygen and blood flow to the heart,
brain, and other vital organs
Time to Perform CPR
CPR should be performed if an infant, child, or
adolescent is unconscious and not breathing
Procedures CPR
1. Check the scene for immediate danger
2. Assess the victim's consciousness
3. Contact emergency services, call :
4. check for a pulse
5. Check for airway
6. Check for breathing
7. Place the victim on his or her back
8. Place the heel of one hand on the victim's
breastbone, 2 finger-widths above the meeting
area of the lower ribs, exactly between the normal
position of the nipples.
9. Place your second hand on top of the first hand,
palms-down, interlock the fingers of the second
hand between the first.
10. Position your body directly over your hands, so
that your arms are straight and somewhat rigid
11. Make sure the airway is open
12. Perform 30 chest compressions
13. Give two rescue breaths (optional)
14. Repeat the cycle of 30 chest compressions
15. Continue CPR until someone takes over for you,
emergency personnel arrive, you are too
exhausted to continue, an automated external
defibrillator (AED) is available for immediate
use, or signs of life return.
