 Activity 1: A Simple Science Experiment Investigate if
the following materials absorb water or not.

You Need: a bowl of water, a dropper

What to do: Begin the experiment by filling the dropper with
water and putting some onto each material. Observe what
happens.

The ability of materials to absorb water depends

on the chemical nature of the material. The lower
the density of the material is the greater it absorbs
water because it has spaces filled with air which
absorbs water very easily and all the spaces quickly
fill up.
