PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Identify, study and summarize the available national and international
standards and guidelines related to building ventilation.
Study the available building ventilation methods.
Study about Energy efficient, Sustainable & healthy building ventilation
strategies.
Gather the available information and making them more accessible to
Researchers, Designers and Engineers.
Identify the research gaps relevant to the CO based demand control
ventilation systems
INTRODUCTION
Energy demand has been increasing all around the world.
Energy production leads to severe environmental impacts.
Energy efficient operations are highly important.
Buildings are one of the biggest energy consumer in the world.
HVAC systems are consuming approximately 40% of total building
energy consumption.
To full fill the ventilation requirements it is necessary to provide fresh
air in to the HVAC system.
Controlling amount of fresh air will leads to increase energy efficiency.
AVAILABLE STANDARDS AND
GUIDELINES
ASHRAE 62.1 Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality.
ASHRAE 62.1 Users Manual.
ASHRAE 62.2 Ventilation and Acceptable Air Quality in Residential
Buildings.
ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Standard for Buildings.
Code of Practise for Energy Efficient Buildings in Sri Lanka - 2008
