MY PRESENTATION IS ABOUT

THE CITY OF MRIDA


MRIDA
Mrida, the vibrant capital of the Mexican state of Yucatn, has a rich
Mayan and colonial heritage. The citys focal point is Plaza de la
Independencia, bordered by the fortresslike Mrida Cathedral and white
limestone Iglesia de la Tercera Orden, both colonial-era churches built
using relics from ancient Mayan temples. The Casa de Montejo, a 16th-
century mansion, is a landmark of colonial plateresque architecture

The zoo with exhibits of
tigers, giraffes, hippos,
primates, birds & other
animal

The zoo and the tiny


aquarium are free

Also it have a tiny train that


runs around the park.
THE CATHEDRAL
The Mrida Cathedral is
one of the oldest
cathedrals in the
Americas.

This cathedral is such a


beautiful place as well
as the architecture is
incredible.

The dome is of
particular beauty. A
wonderful place in the
city to find peace.
MUSEUM

Striking, modern Mayan


culture museum with many
exhibits of art, handicrafts &
history

There are interactive displays


in several sections and you
can learn a lot from the Mayan
culture
SANTA LUCA PARK
Yucatecan Serenade, an
open-air dance with live
music, has been held
weekly since always at this
park

They have themed nights


that make it even more
interesting.

A good selection of
restaurants and cafes
surround the square and it
is a good place to sit and
