Brakes and Suspension

Brake Oil Pressure

Accumulator Charge Valve

Remove air bleeder and install
Front a 400 kg/cm2 oil pressure gauge.
Operate the brake pedal
and retarder lever
and measure the pressure

Rear

Remove air bleeder and install


a 400 kg/cm2 oil pressure gauge.
Turn off the parking brake switch
(release the parking brake)
and measure the pressure

Braking Performance
Service Brake
Start the engine and release the parking brake, depress the brake pedal fully
Set the gear shift lever to the D position and idle the engine to
1760 rpms for standard value and 1570 for service limit value
The machine should not move

Retarder Brake
Start the engine and release the parking brake, pull the retarder lever fully
Set the gear shift lever to the D and idle the engine to
1340 rpms for standard value and 1200 for service limit value
The machine should not move
These measurements are
Service Limit Parking Brake
Start the engine and apply the parking brake
Set the gear shift lever to the D and idle the engine to
1790 rpms for standard value and 1610 for service limit value
The machine should not move

Retarder Brake
Start the engine and release the parking brake, depress the secondary brake pedal fully
Set the gear shift lever to the D and idle the engine to
1790 rpms for standard value and 1610 for service limit value
The machine should not move

Always perform these brake tests in the D position to insure


The transmission begins in 2nd speed

and measure length
of revealed chrome
Standard dimension
is 199mm

Make sure the bottom of


the cylinder cover is within
this range
Standard dimension
is 247mm
