1.1. Overview IWF (MSC Server) System


Interworking Function (IWF) /MSC Server performs the function of MSC/ VLR on the Smart
Telecom Network, so it can support combine attach, update and detach. This function also
support on the LTE Network.

1.2. IWF (MSC Server) System - LTE Registration


In addition to combine attach, update and detach, UE Registrations process will
also be provided as one of IWF (MSC Server) functions.

Below are steps for UE Registrations :


UE Registers in LTE Network
Presenting the MME registers with HSS
Presenting the MME sends combine attach request to CS fallback
IWF (MSC Server)
CS fallback IWF (MSC Server) accepts the registration
The UE are registered and active
IWF (MSC Server) will function to reply all messages from MME
without interacting with HLR
