DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

SURVEY
The type and availability of access to the internet
and the level of skills in using a- particular
technology

In this assignment I will be conducting a survey to research and report on the access that
students on my campus(Rosebank college) have to the internet.
The graph show that majority of the students use laptop to access the
internet and minority of the students use smartphones to access the
internet. Three students use smartphone, six students use tablet and ten
use desktop computer, twelve use laptop to access the internet.
The graph show that majority of the students are able to use IT and others
are not able to. Only fifteen are good , thirteen are very good and three
are poor in using IT, having majority choosing good and others choosing
very good, the lowest as poor.
This graph shows responses from student rating their level of
skill in using the internet. It shows that majority of the students
at the campus understands how to use the internet, with most
students rating their level of skill in using internet as Five and
minority of the students choose 1-4.
The above graph show that many students have access to the
internet when they are outside the campus and minority of
them does not have access to the internet. Only 14 students did
not have access to the internet and 17 students have access to
the internet
The above graph show that majority of the students(20) on
campus use the internet to do their school activities every day,
nine students use the internet to do their school activities and
two students use the internet to do their activities.
The above graph show that most of the students
spend their time at the campus using the internet
and minority of them access the internet when they
are at home. Only seventeen students access the
internet on the campus and twelve students access
the internet at home.
Conclusion

The survey showed that majority of the students have

access to the internet, not
all students had access to the internet when outside the
campus, most of them
used their own data to access the internet and some did
not because they do not the resources to access the
internet. The socio-economic factors play a role in the
finding, because other students who do not have access to
the internet do not have the skills in using the internet
and the skills in using technology, and some of them are
lacking the resources to access the internet
The table show that majority of the students who are good in
using technology, have high skill in using the internet and even
those who are very good in using technology, are very good in
using the internet. Those who are poor in using technology are
not good in using the internet.
