ETOPS Operations-Dispatch WX Minima
A airport maybe considered to be a ETOPS suitable airport for dispatch if
it meets the following criteria within the period of validity :
Non-Precision Approach
Ceiling 800ft / Visibility 3200m; or
Authorized minima+Ceiling 400ft/Visibility 1600m
whichever is higher.
A Single Precision Approach
Ceiling 600ft / Visibility 3200m; or
Authorized minima+Ceiling 400ft/Visibility 1600m
whichever is higher.
Two Precision Approach (Separate Runways)
Ceiling 400ft / Visibility 1600m; or
Authorized minima+Ceiling 200ft/Visibility 800m
whichever is higher
Note:The ETOPS dispatch weather minima apply until the aircraft is airborne.
Once in flight, the operating minima apply. High minimum captain additions are
not applicable when considering ETOPS dispatch weather minima.

For Non-precision Approach

Ceiling of 800 ft and a visibility of 3200m,
or ceiling of 400 ft and a visibility of
1600m above the lowest authorized
landing minima;
Whichever is higher.
This case we need 1 SM +1600M= 2 SM

for PMDY NDB 06, visibility should be
1 SM + 1600m = 2 SM.

Suitable Airport:
A suitable airport is an adequate airport, which satisfies the
ETOPS dispatch wx minima within the period of validity. Also,
cross wind forecasts must also be checked to be acceptable and
field conditions should also ensure that a safe landing can be
accomplished with one-eng and/or airframe system inoperative
during the period of validity.
Note: Once airborne, the normal landing minima applies for
suitable airports.
