STRENGTHS
Variety of Transportation Modes
*Land, Air, And Water
-there are more than 16 modes of transportation in the Philippines including jeepneys,
buses, trains, kuliglig, kalesa, pedicab, airplanes, ferrys, roros etc. This is one of the
advantage in the transportation in Philippines. The country has a growing economy, having
different modes of transportation helps the citizens to choose for their own convinient.
-Data from the Department of Transportation and Communications Land Transportation
Office (DOTC-LTO) for 2013 shows a total of 7,690,038 registered motor vehicles in the
country. Of the said total, 868,148 are cars; 1,794,572 utility vehicles (UVs); 346,396 sport
utility vehicles (SUVs); 358,445 trucks; 31,665 buses; 4,250,667 motorcycles or tricycles; and
40,145 trailers.
-Ferry services- Because our country is an island nation, ferry services are an important
means of transportation. A range of ships are used, from large cargo ships to small pump
boats.
Connectivity with other countries when it comes to people travel and/or goods export

*Water and Air Transportation
-there are 10 different International airlines in the Philippines which flies up to 72
different countries.
-As the 7,107 islands of the Philippines are separated by different bodies of water, the
sea plays an integral part in traveling to and within the country. A range of seafarers
are available, from huge cargo ships to small ferry boats; take long trips that last for a
day or two with regular ship lines or take shorter ones with ferries. Major cruise liners
call on the port of Manila.
-The Philippines is the 39th largest export economy in the world and the 57th most
complex economy according to the Economic Complexity Index (ECI). In 2015, the
Philippines exported $77.9B and imported $76.8B, resulting in a positive trade balance
of $1.06B.
Vision: 20 years from now, how will our transportation
be then?

Transporation in the Philippines is on potential


development, as you can see through the countrys
geographical image and its government under investments.
However in the occurring years the country is slowly
improving its economy and is improving in terms of the
transportation system through different infrastructure
projects.
In 20 years the transportation in the Philippines will
`boom`, the government projects (Skyway, more railways
and bridges) will be complete, developing cities throughout
the nation will be finish leading to unlock more modes of
transportation, technology evolving leading to a new
knowledge for transportation, low or air pollution free.
Several Transportation Projects will be finished or will take effect after 20 years.

Metro Manila Dream Plan: DREAM PLAN Using transport as a catalyst for
sustainable urban development. Aims to the 5 Nos for Mega Manila; NO traffic
congestions; NO household living in hazardous conditions; NO barrier for seamless
mobility; NO excessive cost burden for low income groups; NO air pollution.
The Skyway Project: Skyway project 3 will be soon be finished, this leads to another
project of creating more skyway routes with a possibility to project throughout the
whole nation like NLEX SLEX connector.
The nation linkage project will help reduce the traffic congestions and vehicles in
certain areas throughout the country (Santa Monica Lawton BGC Link Bridge:
This project aims to make BGC straight ahead to Ortigas . The project will reduce
100,000 vehicles in EDSA. UP MIRIAM Ateneo Viaduct: 80% decrease in travel
time from Katipunan to CP. Garcia. Iloilo Guimaras Negros Cebu Link Bridge:
Land transportation can now travel within this places because of the link bridge )
Transportations
RAILWAYS:
Several projects are now on going and being pushed and is expected to be done before
or within 2030: Manila Clark Railways ( from Manila to Clark International Airport
guaranteed 1 hour travel time); Mindanao Railway (Surigao to CDO); Subic to Clark
Cargo Railway Project ( to lessen trucks entering Metro Manila and to reduce the
price of the stocks ); Cebu Davao Maglev Monorail.
Bullet Train to be invest and promise by the European Leaders (9.1 trillion euro to be
invest.)

Bus Rapid Train System: On time scheduling of every bus for every major roads
inside the country.
Land Transportation:
Car companies from other countries will start creating a manufacturing here in our
country. (Example is Mitsubishi company which the vehicles will also be construct in
the Philippines unlocking more job oppurtunities and lesser prices.)
Philippines will have more Grey Market ( vehicles from U.A.E, Japan, etc are planned
invest more here on the future )
Limousines will be planned as a mode of transportation.

Airlines:
Airport projects are now being pushed throughout the regions of the country.
