Trematodes are flatworms known as
flukes. They are internal parasites of mollusks
and vertebrates.
Eggs are passed in the feces, acquired by
the intermediate host(snails, vegetation) where
it undergoes into several stages, metacercariae
is the infective stage where definitive hosts
aquire through ingestion of IH having
metacercariae. They encysts in DH until adult
and lay eggs which eventually passed on feces.

1. Collect 2 spp. Of flukes as specimen for you to
work on. Preserve using 75 % alcohol.
2. SOP: wear your laboratory gear
3. Describe your specimen externally (size, shape,
color).
4. View your specimen under microscope. Note the
suckers, and distinct features.
5. Dry the specimen.
6. Place on a glass slide and view under compound
microscope. Note the parts.
7. Identify your specimen.
