We have learned about various barriers
within school that restrict the
possibilities that children with
disabilities would have otherwise had.

However, inclusion is a process that

start with positive attitude of peers and
school authorities towards disability.
Our research says most parent of
drop-out and out of school children
with disabilities want to send their
child back to school.

We focus on advocating for

reasonable accommodation for
their equal participation.
And sometimes, the children must
advocate and negotiate in order to
secure their rights.

The Child Right Centres run by

ASTHA focuses on building
childrens understanding
on their rights.
Therapies are essential for the
development of skills and potentials
of children with disabilities and are
encouraged & practised through
daily living and creative activities.

Our rehabilitation work with persons

with disabilities aims to follow the
principles of UNCRPD.

The children we were working
with yesterday are the youth
today. They have come up as
responsible citizens and leaders
in their communities..
They have shown their ability by
forming their own platform
Viklang Ekta Manch under our
guidance.

They are now leaders and

agents of change.
As children remain the heart of
ASTHA, the inclusion of parents in
activities is crucial.

In all these years, we have learned

from the parents as much as the
parents have learned from us..
