Master Production schedule

• MPS sets the quantity of each end of item to
be completed in each week of the short range
planning horizon.
• End items are finished products or parts that
are shipped as end items.
Objective of MPS
• To schedule end items to be completed
promptly and when promised to the customer.
• To avoid over loading or under loading the
production facility so that production capacity
is efficiently utilized and low production cost
result.
• A firm produces 2 products A and B on a
produce to stock basis. The demand for the
products come from many sources . The
demand estimates for the two products over
the next 6 weeks are as given below:
