PREFACE
The economic value of a well is based on how much
oil can that well produce. This thing is what reduce the water-flow during the oil production. There are some factors that caused the high percentage of water cut, those are; well maturity, fracturing factor, and water which moving vertically to the production layer. METODOLOGY
Started on literature study (to learn the critical production rate
using Chierici Method) Formulation and data related to this research Field orientation to know field review of research to be conducted Data collection in the form of fluid production rate data, reservoir data, well mechanical data, and well drainage data Followed by data processing (begins with making a well history using fluid production rate data by making a graph of increase in water content over time to see significant increase in water content) After which make the Inflow Performance curve Relationship (to see the characteristics of the reservoir by using pressure against production rate) DISCUSSION
Basically water coning is a problem in the reservoir
associated with the movement of water to the perforation hole. The evaluation of this issue is more related to the parameters related to the movement of water in the reservoir and also by evaluating the moisture content over a period of time. Evaluation of water coning problem includes 4 wells at Ramba field location PT. Pertamina EP Asset 1 ( X-41 well, X-95 well, X-98 well, and X-99 well). In this study method that has been used to calculate the critical production rate is the Cherici Method approach. the result of different critical production rates for each well, then the critical rate of production is compared with the actual production rate. After knowing the wells experience water coning problem, followed by the analysis of system selection (method) proper handling in overcoming water coning problem. However, based on the results of the evaluation that has been done, a suitable method for handling water coning problem in field ramba is recompletion of well and artificial barrier. While the artificial barrier is a deliberate barrier created to prevent water flow along with oil into the wellbore due to water coning. Such artificial barriers in the form of solid barrier or in the form of fluid or plastic, bitumen and cement can help to prevent the occurrence of water coning. CONCLUSION
Results of the analysis has been done to prove on
field Ramba PT. Pertamina EP 1 got 4 wells having water coning problem. This water coning problem can occur as the actual production rate exceeds the critical production rate. The proper way of handling water coning is by recompiling wells and adding infil wells. REFERENCE
