P3 :Activity of enzyme stop at 600C
Sample answer
The rate of the enzyme-catalyzed reaction increases when the
temperature increases until the optimum temperature of 370C. At
temperature higher than 370C, the rate of reaction decreases and stop
at 600C

1(h)Able to deduce about the activity of amylase on starch based
on the following aspects:
P1 : Amylase is the enzyme which hydrolysis the starch 3
P2: The colour of iodine change from yellow to blue-black
P3:
. Affected by the temperature
Sample answer
Amylase is the enzyme which hydrolyses the starch by changing the
colour of iodine from yellow to blue-black and reacts best at its
optimum temperature // 370C
Able to define based on any two aspects 2
Able to define based on any one aspects 1
No response or incorrect in response 0
1(i)Able to predict what will happen if the experiment is
repeated at 370C but changing the pH of the medium at 3.
R : Not hydrolysed 3
P1 : No colour change on iodine
P2:
. Amylase only can function in neutral condition/ pH 7
Sample answer
The starch will not be hydrolysed. So, no colour change on iodine. This
