Jaitly on the health sector is described as following : The Finance Minister announced the world’s largest government funded healthcare programme titled National Health Protection Scheme to cover over 10 crore families providing coverage upto 5 lakh per family Allocation for social sector including education and healthcare is Rs.1,51,581 crore. Govt. has decided to allocate additional Rs. 600 crore to nutritional support to the TB patient at the rate of Rs. 500 Per month for the duration of the treatement Ayushman Bharat will build a new India by 2022 and ensure enhanced productivity, Govt. is steadily but surely progressing towards the goal of global heath coverage. A new health protection scheme for health cover up to Rs.5lakh per family. Senior citizens will get additional healthcare cover of rs.30,000. 3000 stores to be set up for generic drugs (pharmaceutical drug) BUDGET FOR SOCIAL PROTECTION
• Budget 2018-19 introduced in parliament cover the
following points related to social sector A 9000 cr. for Swachch Bharat Abhiyan. National service programme under PPP model. LPG connection for women members of rural homes. On CLEANING THE GANGA, the finance minister said a total of 187 projects have been sanctioned under the Namami Gange program for infrastructural development GOBAR-DHAN SCHEME For management and conversion of cattle dung and solid waste in farms PRIME MINISTER JAN-DHAN YOJANA(P.M.J.D.Y) The government will expand the coverage under this yojana by bringing all 60 crore basic accounts within its fold MICRO INSURANCE SCHEME It is the protection of low-income people (those living on between approximately $1 and $4 per day). UNORGANISED SECTOR PENSION SCHEMES Insurance Maturity coverage and other benefits that elude this class. TARGET- The significant part of population who do not have any social security cover. Economic and social advancement of hard working people SCs and STs has received the core attention of the government The govt. aims to improving the quality life in 115 aspirational districts by investing in social service like health, education, nutrition, skill up gradation, financial inclusion and irrigation Conclusion • The conclusion from the above discussion is that government has been increased the budget for education. A good amount will be spend on the education system and for the finance of education for that who are not capable for funding their education. Secondly there is major increase in healthcare and health education . The government decided to spend the biggest amount ever on healthcare sector to ensure the better health of the country. and for the social protection government has launched the various program related to clean ganga, swachch bharat abhiyan, gas connection, sc/st upliftment, etc various schemes launched. • So overall this is a good budget from the point of view of health, education,and social protection
