• Masonville Cove began as a shoreline restoration project, to restore neglected land in the Middle Branch located in Baltimore • Masonville Cove is 70 acres of water and 54 acres of cleaned up wetlands and nature trails • Soon, Masonville Cove became a Education Center where students could connect with nature in the outdoors and participate in meaning volunteer projects that help restore the shoreline/environment Why Masonville Cove? • Nature brings a sense of peacefulness to the mind. Throughout the last couple of weeks, I have been researching possible access opportunities for my students. I chose to implement my action plan using the Masonville Cove resource. Students will be able to experience nature and participate in activities that benefit the environment, as students also learn about how to care for the environment. What is a watershed? • A water shed is an area or ridge of land that separates waters flowing to different rivers, basins, or seas. What is runoff? • Runoff is when rainwater travels over the ground to the closest body of water taking any pollution on the ground with it What is pollutant and what types of pollutants can harm our waters?
