What is a Queue or a
Waiting Line?
A Queue or sequence of people or vehicles awaiting their turn to be attended to
or to proceed.
Three Basic Components are:

ARRIVAL WAITING LINE SERVICE FACILITY


• Size of the calling
• Configuration of the queuing
population • Queue length
system
• Pattern of arrivals
• Queue discipline • Service time distribution
• Behavior of arrivals

Due to the amount of arrivals,


the number of customers
- Unlimited length stacked.
- First In, First Out (FIFO)
Many joined the line, some
reneged.
Service Facility

The cashiers are serving on


old computers, two which- Multiple Channels
- Single phase
were unavailable after a few
moments. - 10-15 minutes
Recommendation
• Add more available clerks or counters

• Check systems for errors

• Allocate space for lines

• Create a more efficient system for the queuing process
