information.

 When?
 Where?
 Why?
 How?
SEVEN BASIC CHARACTERISTICS OF

 UNBIASED
 COMPLETE
 CONCISE
 TIMELY
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
REPORTING AND INTERPRETATION
Objective/factual reporting
Subjective/interpretive reporting
To report well, the competent and honest
observer generally need not concern
Himself interpreting what he observes.
Difference between fact and
interpretation.
NOTE TAKING,
Use one you find workable
Develop own system of abbreviations as in
dates, etc.
Jot down facts only- get only the bones of the
skeleton.
Omit articles, connectives- write key words of
the information.
Write later the details when they are still fresh
in your mind.
