Marketing Campaign:
“Hustle for that Muscle”
• Objective: To make membership sales at SPENGA increase.
• Marketing plan: Advertised on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, direct
mail flyers, Email campaigns, and ads on the internet. Advertising
on social media will help this campaign reach out to many new
clients, but especially young adults/students. It will also allow new
clients to easily purchase the promotion online. Ads on the
internet will help catch fitness lovers attention, especially that the
cost of $14 will be highlighted.
• Promotional plan: During the month of February, offer 14
consecutive days of SPENGA for $14. If they decide to join for a
monthly membership during those 2 weeks, offer them another 14
days for free of unlimited classes before they get billed their first
monthly payment. If they do not join in the 14 days for $14, then
they do not receive 14 free days before their monthly payment if
they decide to join at a later date.
• Give all members who join for a monthly membership a free
SPENGA towel.

• Objective: To acquire more members by targeting the
ones who cannot do a monthly membership.
• Marketing plan: Advertised on Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter, direct mail flyers to previous package users,
Email campaigns, and ads on the internet. Social media
will help spread the word, especially to people who
cannot afford or do not have time for a monthly
membership. Sending an email campaign will target
previous package users to let them know about an
awesome special and get them hooked.
• Promotional plan: During the months of March and
April, if you buy 10 SPENGA sessions, you get 5 free. Can
purchase as many bulks of 10 as desired.

confusions about what a SPENGA session consists of.
Some people need to see what they are signing up for.

Good Sports
• Good Sports is able to provide a
diverse range of sporting
equipment, footwear and apparel
to many different community
organizations on a year-round
basis
• The equipment they are able to
distribute is determined by the
type of donations they receive
from supporters
• Why? Because youth sports
participation rates have been in a
steady decline across the nation
over the past decade which
means childhood obesity rates
have been increasing rapidly
SPENGA Charity Ride For Good Sports
• Join the Chicago Young Professionals Board at SPENGA in
Mokena for a charity ride to benefit Good Sports. SPENGA
is fitness studio consisting of a hour long group fitness
class: 20 minutes of spin, 20 minutes of H.I.T.T. strength
style training, followed by 20 minutes of yoga. For this
event, SPENGA will host a 45-minute charity RIDE only
class. From inspirational instructors, to epic spaces and
rocking music, riders can let loose, clear their heads and
empower themselves with strength that lasts beyond the
studio walls. So sign up for a bike, spin away and help us
get more kids in the game all while getting in a great
workout!

Overall Risk Management Plan
1. Post signage in every area in the facility in which members may be exposed to an
increased risk of injury or jeopardized health.
2. Make sure that every prospect completes a waiver-and-release before engaging in
physical activity.
3. Have a written emergency response system in place with policies and procedures.
4. Have an AED and first aid kit located within a 1.5-minute walk.
5. A skills review, practice sessions, and a practice drill with the AED shall be conducted
every 6 months minimum.
6. Have an incident report process in place.
7. Ensure that all employees have the proper qualifications and experience to safely
and effectively perform the responsibilities of their job.
8. Establish a preventive maintenance program for the studio’s equipment.
9. Have a properly documented, Occupational Safety and Health Administration
compliant system in place for the handling of hazardous materials and bodily fluids.
10. Ensure that all employees know what to do in the event of specific emergencies.
Tornado Risk Management Plan
Be prepared by continuously by planning, equipping, training, and exercising.
• Tornado Watch- Be ready to act quickly, take shelter, and check supply kits. Monitor radio and
news stations for more information.
• Tornado Warning- Imminent threat. Take shelter immediately.

Fire Risk Management Plan
Be prepared by continuously by planning, equipping, training, and exercising.
Inside fire:
1. Ensure that all employees know what to do in the event of an emergency.
2. Assign specific duties to workers in advance; create checklists for each specific responsibility and
have the checklists available.
3. Sound the alarm and call 9-1-1.
4. Feel the door or doorknob with the back of your hand. If it feels hot, do not open it.
5. Quickly and safely help anyone inside the studio evacuate outside if it does not jeopardize your own
life.
6. Account for workers, prospects, and members as they arrive to the shelter outside (take a head
count).
7. Close doors on the way out to trap the fire and slow its progress.
8. Wait for fire fighters to come.
Outside fire:
1. Ensure that all employees know what to do in the event of an emergency.
2. Assign specific duties to workers in advance; create checklists for each specific responsibility and
have the checklists available.
3. Call 9-1-1.
4. Stay inside and do not evacuate until the police show up and tell you what to do, unless the fire is
spreading to the studio (in that case, follow inside fire plan).
Incident Risk Management Plan
Be prepared by continuously by planning, equipping, training, and exercising.
• If an incident occurs, attend to those involved to ensure there are no injuries.
• Complete an incident report. This report should at least include:
a. Names and contact information of the reporter and witnesses
b. A detailed description of the incident
c. Recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future
• Contact your insurance representative for advice on whether the incident should be
reported to your insurer. Incidents are often reported even if a claim may not come
out of them.
• Keep the incident report on file:
a. Documentation should be kept for as long as necessary to defend against
potential claims. The length of time that legal action may be taken is called the
statute of limitations.
• Review the incident report to determine the cause of the incident and any loss
prevention measures that could be implemented
