Pendahuluan
• Pengertian
Chest tube, atau disebut juga chest
drain, thoracic catheter, tube
thoracostomy, intercostal catheter,
intercostal drain atau, Bülau drain
is a flexible plastic tube that is
inserted through the chest wall and
into the pleural
space or mediastinum.
Indikasi
• pneumothorax; • bronchopleural fistula;
• penetrating chest trauma; • chemical pleurodesis for benign
• severe blunt chest trauma; and malignant conditions;
• hemothorax; • postoperative use in
thoracic/cardiac surgery; and
• chylothorax;
• complicated parapneumonic
• symptomatic pleural effusion; effusion or empyema
