 Teaching Objective

After learning this chapter, student are able to:

1. Mention and explaining characteristic of living

things.

2. To differ characteristic plant and characteristic

animal.
 Some Living Characteristics of an
organism

Moving : Transfer all or part of the body position

living things because of the stimulation.
Active motion is the motion moved for example with the
feet, wings and fins. Passive motion as shown by the plants.
Plants can not migrate, but move Part of his body.

 Needs Nutrient

Every living creature needs foods or nutrients to sustain life.

Food as a source of energy needed to perform processes life.
How to get food or how to eat every living thing is different.
Plants can make own food by photosynthesis. Animals and
humans obtain food from other living creatures.
 Respon to Stimulus

Living things are sensitive to changes that happen. Instrument

identification in human and animal environments of the senses. Sensitive
sensory stimuli. Stimuli can be either light, sound, smell, taste or touch.
Given the sensitive sensory stimulation such stimuli, humans and animals
have the ability to see, hear, smell, taste and touch / feeling.
Plants do not have the sensory equipment, but sensitive to stimuli. For
example plants pursed embarrassed daughter leaves when touched, and the
growth of stems toward the sun.

Adaptation of living beings is the ability to adjust themselves to their

environment. For living thingscan adapt to their environment, he can live
longer and individuals like (the population) tend to increase a lot. But for
the living creatures that can not adapt themselves to the environment will
become extinct.
