There are six principal orthographic views of an object: top, bottom, front, back, left side, and right side views created by projecting the edges of the object perpendicular to parallel planes of projection at 90 degree angles.

    Orthographic Projection – A system for
    graphical representation of an object by a
    line drawing on a flat surface.
    Orthographic View – a drawing that
    shows a side of an object viewed directly
    from 90 degrees.
    Six (60) Principal Views of an Object:
    An orthographic view is made by projecting the edge of
    the object perpendicular to a plane of projection.
