 Judo is a type of
martial art and a sport
created in Japan in
1882 by Jigoro Kano. It
is specific for the
competitive element,
where the objective is
the opponent to be
thrown or knocked
down, immobilized or
forced to surrender.
Origin
 The early history of judo
is closely connected with
the life of its creator,
Japanese universalist and
educator Jigoro Kano
(1860-1938). He was born
into a wealthy family and
received a good
education, from the age of
seven studying English,
calligraphy. In February
1882 Jigoro Kano founded
his own dojo in Buddhist
temple Eishodzhi in
Tokyo.
Technics
 Techniques are 66 being
divided into:

 "sacrificial techniques aside"

 "restraint techniques"

 "tightening techniques"

 "painful techniques joints"


Practice
 Judo is practiced in
over 200 countries in
the world. And to this
day it remains a judo
"martial arts" and
sports, and in Japan a
traditional martial
art. The age from
which a child can
start training is a 3-4
years. The methods
are different
everywhere, but
principles remain
respected by all.
