Position of Anti-corona product

L (cm) = Maximum test voltage of coil (kV)

2

e.g. for 11kV coil say max test voltage = 2 x 11kV + 1 = 23kV

L = 2 = 11.5cm

Key points when using anti-corona tapes

Conductive materials - resistivity should be 200-5000

ohm/sq as received
- resistivity should be max
10,000 ohm/sq after processing
- conductive coating should be
to OUTERMOST EARTH POINT

Stress grading materials - must overlap conductive

materials by 20 - 30 mm
- must be applied carefully
- length in cm is max. test
voltage (kV) ÷ 2
- best results when layers of
tape are compressed
