Introduction
_______________________________
• Human activities are categorized as follow:
i. Simple activities
ii. Complex activities
i. Simple Activities:
– These activities include
• Walking, Sitting, Standing, Running, cycling etc.
ii. Complex Activities:
– These activities include
• Eating, Cooking, Smoking, Bending, Presentation etc.

Problem Statement
_______________________________
• Mostly, the activities we perform, at that time we are not
aware whether the activity is good for human body
condition or not e.g.
– A diabetes patient eat sweets, he do not know how much calories
he has to burn.
– A heart patient do not know what is his running speed and what is
needed for his heart conditions
• This project will be focused on recognize various complex Activities,
that can be used for elderly caring, and patient monitoring etc. The
activities can be:
– Eating, Presentation , Stairs(up/down) etc.

Technical Methodology
_______________________________
• Feature Extraction

In data modeling we will find various features such as:

• Mean (Average value of each axis Accelerometer
sensor)
• Standard deviation
• Root Mean Square
• Frequencies (FFT)
• And some other features

Classification Algorithms
_______________________________
For classification we will use five but at least three classifiers
performance comparison:

• Support Vector Machine (SVM)

• Random Forest (RF)
• K Nearest Neighbor (KNN)

Project Objectives
_______________________________
• Recognition of complex Activities
• Provide healthcare to elderly people living alone
• Uses classifiers to recognize user activities and provide
performance comparison for different classifiers
• Detect abnormal activities
• prevent unpredictable events
