LaUrel P { P JosE T Jose Paciano Laurel y Garcia was born on March 9,1891 in Tanauan, Batangas.
He married Pacencia Hidalgo and had 8 children named
Jose Jr, Sotero, Natividad, Potenciana, Mariano, Salvador, Arsenio and Rosenda
He graduated in University of the Philippines(College of
Law), finished his masters in University of Santo Tomas, and obtained his doctorate in Yale University School. Laurel started his public career at the Bureau of Forestry as part time laborer.
He was elected as Secretary of Interior (Leonard Wood
cabinet) and was the only president who was able to worked in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government.
He worked as Senator for the 5th Senatorial District in
Batangas, Mindoro, Tayabas, Cavite and Marinduque. Worked also as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court(1936-1941), Secretary of Justice (Quezon cabinet 1941), Acting Chief Justice of Supreme Court (1941), and Commissioner of Justice, Commissioner of Interior(1942-1943).
On Oct 14, 1943 he was elected as the president of the
Second Philippine Republic and the third president of the Republic of the Philippines.
His term ended on August 17, 1945 and died on

Laurel was elected as the president of the Philippines
on October 14, 1943 which was tasked in drafting the constitution for the republic to be.
He reorganized the government and created the
Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifically to address the nations economic problems.
He took initiative in the making of the Constitution of
the Philippines and authored the 1935 Constituion. He was the representative of the Philippines in an agreement of U.S and Philippine known as Laurel-Langley Agreement.
Laurel did his best to emphasize the poor economic status
of the Philippines, and collaborated to the Japanese even it makes him look like a traitor on his own country.
His term ended on August 17, 1945.
