How To Survive in Your New School

Being in a new school can be both exciting and scary – some find it exciting
meeting new people but are anxious about adapting to a new environment.
Here are some tips on how to survive your first month of school.
Firstly, smile at everyone and find the chance to introduce yourself to
your new friends. Get to know their names, especially the names of your
new classmates. Try to remember their personal details because it shows
that you are interested to be their friend.
Secondly, get to know your new school. Some teachers take the
students for a tour around the school and staffroom so that the students
know where to find their teachers. Remember the location of important
places such as the canteen, school co-op, library, toilets and staffroom. This
information will become handy in the future.
Finally, participate in class activities and show your best behaviour to
your new friends and teachers. Put up your hands if you have any questions
or when you want to answer a question. Ask permission before you go to
the toilet and help your friends if they need a hand.
