• 1 Cor.

1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were

called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ
our Lord.
• 10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of
our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same
thing, and that there be no divisions among you;
but that ye be perfectly joined together in the
same mind and in the same judgment.
• 1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard
declare we unto you, that ye also may have
fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is
with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
WHY DO WE NEED TO BE
“IN-CHURCH”
• Are Church Membership and Participation
Essential to Salvation?
• Is this essential in order to please God?
• Can we be saved without "organized Church or
fellowship"?
• What is the role of the church in God's eternal
purpose, in prophecy, in worship, and in
evangelism of the gospel?
• Will Christ save people outside the church?
• Can a Christian survive apart from a church?
• What is the relationship between the church,
salvation from sin, and the blood (death) of
Christ?
• When you become a Christian, you are called into a relationship with God
• 1 Corinthians 1:9- God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship
of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
• 1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye
also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father,
and with his Son Jesus Christ.
• We enter a fellowship that goes two ways: with God and with other Christians.
• The New Testament is full of “one another” commands. We are to comfort one
another (I Thessalonians 4:18), build up one another (I Thessalonians 5:11),
confess our sins to one another (James 5:16), pray for one another (James
5:16), and many more.
• How can we obey these directives if we stay away from the gathering of
believers?
• Regular contact with other Christians can keep us sharp.
• Christians must find a place (Church) to put down roots and make
longstanding.
• If you want to know Jesus, you also need to be “In- Church”.
• You can’t have one without the other.
• Are Church Membership and Participation
Essential to Salvation?
• Many people do not see membership or participation in
the church as very important.
• Many people have rejected “Organized fellowship."
• They may claimed I have my own personal prayer and link
to Jesus, no need to be there its just the same.
• Statistics revealed that this theory resulted to non
productive Christians and later on unnoticed decline in
spiritual maturity and behavioral changes.
• Others say, "I'm a good moral person. I believe in God and
treat my family and neighbors right. Why do I need church
membership?"
• Other members show by their lack of attendance and
involvement that they don't consider church participation
to be essential.
• The Work Done by the Church
• The main work of the church is spiritual, to help
people have a right relationship with God.
• The church is the only institution formed by God
primarily as a means of preaching the gospel.
• The church conducts worship, prayer, singing
and assemblies where people gather to worship
God.
• Such activities was established in the church
and importance in the eyes of God, because
these are called service
• Why is it important to be in the house of God?
• Some say, "It doesn't matter which church you
attend, as long as you believe in Jesus
• The church is called the house(hold) of God.
• Ephesians 2:16,19 - Jesus reconciled Jew and
Gentile to God in one body through the cross.
Therefore, we are fellow citizens with the saints
and members of the household of God.
• 1 Timothy 3:15 - Paul wrote, so we may know
how to behave ourselves in the house of God,
which is the church of the living God.
• Children of God are those who are "born again.“
• John3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus,
a ruler of the Jews:
• 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi,
we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man
can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
• 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom
of God.
• 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he
is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb,
and be born?
• 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man
be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the
kingdom of God.
• 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is
born of the Spirit is spirit.
• 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
• Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children
of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
• 27 For as many of you as have been
baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
• We are children of God by faith, because
we were baptized into Christ.
• Baptism puts us into Christ and the church
• The church is the body of Christ.
• Ephesians 1: – 22 And hath put all things under his
feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to
the church,
• 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth
all in all.
• Christ is head of the church, which is His body.
• Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the
church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the
dead; that in all things he might have the
preeminence.
• This is the reason Why do we need to be members
of Christ's body?
• The church played a major role in the eternal purpose of
God, thereby demonstrating God's wisdom.
• Ephesians 3: 10 To the intent that now unto the
principalities and powers in heavenly places might be
known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
• 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed
in Christ Jesus our Lord:
• 12 In whom we have boldness and access with
confidence by the faith of him.
• 13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations
for you, which is your glory.
• People put great effort into planning something only if it
is important to them.
• So Jesus put much effort in planning the church.
• therefore it is important to plan for your spiritual life.
• The church should not be a last-minute substitute.
• B. How Important Is Jesus' Death?
• The price someone is willing to pay for something shows its value to him.
• * People work most of their time to provide food for themselves.
• * A person would pay almost any price for an operation that would save his life.
• * But we would pay little for something of little value to us.
• The highest price anyone can pay for anything is his life.
• When a soldier or policeman dies in the line of duty, people say he paid "the
supreme price."
• If a father dies trying to rescue his family, he paid the highest price he could pay.
• So Jesus bought the church by paying the highest price anyone could pay.
• The importance of a death is determined by the importance of the person.
• Jesus died to purchase the church, consider how valuable and important you must
consider the church!
• God had not designed us to be a "Lone Ranger" (Elijah)
• Neither there is no such thing as “Free Lance” in the
bible
• God is looking for a “Commitment”
• We need each other.
• There is no perfect Church,
• and there are no perfect Christians, but together we
help each other until we become the persons God
intended us to be.
• Will Christ save people outside the church?
• Nobody was saved outside the ark on Noahs time
• Remember God has no plan for those outside the
Church.
What is the relationship between the church and
salvation from sin, and the blood (death) of Christ?
• Exodus 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the
tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a “lamb”,
according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house
• 11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet,
and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's
passover
• 21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw
out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.
• 22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in
the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is
in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the
morning.
• 23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he
seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will
pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your
houses to smite you. -x
• To those who had been unchurch for such a
long time, today be thankful that God put you
in a place where you should grow
• Love your Church because your love to Church
show how you love your God.
• The Quantity of time, support
and sacrifice you render to your
Church, speak of your spiritual
Quality.
