Conclusion
 Professional associations are vital to the development of the
profession of Librarianship. The situation of library associations
and organizations in Pakistan is not encouraging. Not a single
association or group has track record of holding regular
elections. Their aims and objectives set forth have never been
achieved. It is a high time for Pakistan Library Association and
other related library organizations to assume the responsibility
of the development of the library profession in Pakistan. As
timed rolled on, the library associations should continue the
tempo to provide guidance to their members in their
professional pursuits. A library association needs not to be a
pressure group or mere trade union. There is ever an academic,
intellectual and creative aspect of a professional association.
