PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS and
INTERPRETATION OF DATA
Start with: This chapter presents the findings of the
study.
• Presentation should be clear and scholarly done
and may come in the form of tables, figures or
charts.
• Analysis refers to the skill of the researcher in
describing, delineating similarities and
differences, highlighting the significant findings or
data and ability to extract information or
messages out of the presented data.
• Interpretation is the explanation or suggestions
inferred from the data, their implications but not
conclusions.
A. Presentation of
Data
QUESTIONS:
How your are going to present your data in
SIP?
 arranges data in an ordered format, such as lowest
to highest
 can also use a stem and leaf plot for presentation
 the researched data is presented to others in a
paragraph form
 could be hard for people to understand without a
visual aid
 data is presented in a chart or table format
 statistics may be shown across several rows
and columns, presenting data with certain
parameters in a fashion that can be looked
over and compared
 visual display of data and statistical results
 visual display of data and statistical results
 basically summarizes how one quantity
changes if another quantity that is related to
it also changes
 show and compare changes

 show and compare relationships

 bring facts to life

 Attractive and Effective presentation of Data

 Simple and Understandable Presentation of

Data

 Useful in Comparison

 Useful for Interpretation

 Remembrance for long period

 Helpful in Predictions

 Universal utility

 Information as well as Entertainment

 Helpful in Transmission of Information

 No Need for training

B.
Analysis of
Data
Difference Between Data Analysis and Data Interpretation
Data Analysis is…

“The attempt to fully and accurately

summarize and represent the data that
has been collected.”
Data Interpretation
is the…

“So What?” “What does it MEAN?”

(Mills, 2003,
pp.116)
C.
Interpretation
of Data
EXAMPLE:
Results and Discussions:

The researchers used an Interview . The respondents were

from the Jaime Cardinal Village. The following were the
results of the said product:

Mang Kanor claimed that the product is duly effective

because even after a week of use, he felt the smooth glow of
his skin. Furthermore, he stated not only it moisturize his
skin from the hot weather, it makes his skin even look
younger. But to his dismay, the product only can
moisturize, not to the effect, it can lessen his pimple –
related problems.

From Mang Kanor’s statements, the researchers ahd an

idea that…
CHAPTER IV
Results and Discussions:

The researchers used a Survey. The respondents

were from the Jaime Cardinal Village. The following
were the results of the said product:

very effective
slightly effective
not effective
not sure
HOW YOU ARE GOING TO
INTERPRETE THE DATA?

very effective
slightly effective
not effective
not sure

From the pie chart above, the researchers deduced that the product is
effective due to the percentage shown. It may be effective in some
cases or scenarios because it is…

INTERPRETATION OF DATA

INTERPRETATION OF DATA:
The results show that the test tube B with the milk and E.
Coli specimen had the largest colony of bacterial growth whereas test
tube C with milk, the E. Coli specimen and garlic extract did not
show any signs of bacterial growth. Test tube A showed some small
signs of bacterial growth probably due to contamination during the
incubation period.
Sample: Analysis and Interpretation of Data
ANALYSIS OF DATA
ANALYSIS OF DATA:
Based from the experiment done by the researchers, it showed
that garlic can retard or minimize bacterial growth. The size of
the bacterial colony where garlic was added did not reach 10 mm.
Furthermore, based on the similar studies conducted on fresh
garlic says that it can also kill the antibiotic-resistant
Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella enteritidis in the
laboratory. Thus, can help in the prevention and possibly cure for
some diseases like gout, rheumatism, hemorrhoids, asthma,
bronchitis, fungal infections, warts, and corns.
