• Gambar yang terbentuk dari kumpulan pixel/titik
disebut BITMAP

1. Tetap Utuh apabila gambar diperbesar
2. Bersifat resolution independent
3. Menyimpan gambar sesuai dengan software
4. Gradasi warna harus diolah sendiri

 How to Use a Tool
• If there is a small triangle at a tool’s lower right corner, hold down
the mouse button to view the hidden tools. Then click the tool
you want to select.
• Using the selecting tools

 Option Bar
• Option bar displays options for the active
(selected) tool.
 Layers
Layers make it possible to add modifications that can be removed quickly and easily. They
can be added individually or can be created from an existing part of the document.
To insert a new layer: Go to the Toolbar, To make a layer from the existing
click on Layer → New → Layer. document: choose selected area
with the marquee tool, right click
selected area and choose
Layer via Cut/Copy.

 Understanding Layers

• What are layers?

– A section within an image that can
be manipulated independently
– Use layers to control individual
elements in a document
 Layer Palette
• The Layers palette lists all layers, layer groups, and layer effects in
an image.
• You can use the Layers palette to show and hide layers, create new
layers, and work with groups of layers.

 Layer Style
• Double click at the layer you want to add
style
 Magic Wand
The Magic Wand Tool is used to select all the colors in a certain range. By changing
the tolerance, one can adjust the sensitivity between ranges.
Step 2: Click the desired color area and experiment
with the Tolerance level.

 Shapes
Shapes can be used to create a decorative touch to a picture.

Click on the Shape Tool in the Toolbox. Select preferred shape. Drag and
drop on picture. Use Text Box to add text if wanted.
 Create a New Image
• Choose File > New

 Image Resolution & Resizing
• Choose Image > Image Size
• Change the width & height
value to resize the image.
• Change the resolution value
to change the image

 Saving a File Options

name and to preserve a copy of the
original file
• Open a file in one file format (e.g., .BMP)
and save it in another file format (e.g.,
.JPG)
