 COMMENCEMENT OF SEMESTER

• The first semester for new MBA batch 2017–19 started on

20/07/2017. The number of students admitted were 130.
Some students, however, left the course. This reduced the
effective strength at the end of the semester to 119. The
academic program for MBA III–Semester commenced from
16/08/2017. The number of students admitted were 95.

Orientation Program
• Orientation program was organized from 20th July, 2017 to
26th July 2017 for the new batch.
• The program was primarily intended to familiarize the students
about the Poornima University, its growth, culture, traditions,
ideology and vision.
• Besides valuable guidance provided in the motivational
address of Dr. B.K.Sharma, Dean SET and detailed
information given by Dr Nikhil Varghese Dean SOM and
SOC, a Guest orientation address was also delivered by Mr.
Paresh Gupta,Director, Global Centre for Entrepreneurship
Development.

 TEACHING PEDAGOGY

• It is a mix of explanation of topics, selective notes

dictated/provided, power point presentation,
discussions, role plays, tutorials/assignments and
case studies.
• The faculty members also laid due emphasis on
activity based teaching and use of projector/slides.
 Independence Day
• The Independence Day (August 15, 2017) was celebrated by
the Poornima University.
• The celebration included a motivational address by Dr. KKS
Bhatia, President, Poornima University followed by several
performing art events by the students on patriotic themes.
• The faculty members were also felicitated for the excellent
result achieved .
 Teacher’s Day Celebration
• It is the special day which is celebrated on 5th
September on the occasion of the birth anniversary of
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
• Students made efforts to make a memorable day by
their own innovative ideas.

 SPECIAL LECTURES
 The MBA department besides running the
regular MBA program, has been organizing
special lectures for the MBA students from time
to time, delivered by eminent personalities and
experts possessing rich knowledge and experience
in their respective areas.
