SUPPLY

 Natural gas :
 Total Flow Rate (Volume or Energy)
 Pipeline
 Gas Well
 Gascondition : Pressure,
Temperature and Composition.
DEMAND
 Naturalgas must be able to supply to the
power generator during peak hours
 The power plant condition must be
considered:
 Peak hours (example: 5 or 6 hours every
day)
 Type and configuration of the power plant
 The total efficiency of Power Generator  to
calculate the natural gas needed during peak
hours
Design key parameter: Supply or Demand ?
Daily Heat Balance
Demand as a key parameter

Power Plant Capacity :G MWatt

Peak hours :y hours
Total Power Plant Efficiency : q %

1 MWatt = 3,4 x 106 Btu/hour

Total Electric Energy in Peak hour= ( G ) (3,4 x 106 Btu/h)(y hours)
Total Heating value of Gas needed for Power Plant:

= ( G ) (3,4 x 106 Btu/h)(y hours)(100)/(q)

Heat Input = Own Use Heat + Heat Output

CNG Skid
Soal PR:
Sebuah pembangkit membutuhkan 12 BBtu gas bumi
untuk menjalankan pembangkit tersebut selama 6 jam
tiap hari. Tekanan gas masuk pembangkit tidak boleh
kurang dari 28 bar. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gas
pada saat beban puncak tersebut, diperlukan fasilitas
gas storage (CNG Storage/CNG Skid). Diputuskan
menggunakan skid yang terdiri dai 8 tube, dengan
kapasitas simpan sebesar 5330 m3. (Asumsi: Nilai
kalor gas 1000 MMBtu/MMSCF). Disain CNG storage
harus mempertimbangkan/mengantisipasi kenaikan
kebutuhan gas sebesar 15%, maka hitunglah, berapa
perkiraan luas area yang dibutuhkan, Jika dimensi
CNG Skid (lebar x panjang) adalah 2.5 m x 12m,
dengan konfigurasi 3 skid per tumpukan.
