Industry 4.0 (4IR)
The Fourth Industrial Revolution urges us to think creatively about
the manufacturing process, value chain, distribution and customer
service processes. In the meanwhile, the future of education
emphasizes the immense need to look beyond these areas and
strategically utilize the “Internet of Things” to prepare the coming
workforce for the challenges ahead.
First Industrial Revolution (1760-1840)
Introduced the mechanization of manufacturing: manual production became more efficient
by developing and leveraging mechanical tools fuelled by water and steam power.
It was the beginning of the factory model.

Second Industrial Revolution (1870-1914)

Brought mass production into the picture, thanks to extensive use of machinery, the
introduction of electricity and electrical communications and a reduction of distances due to
increased railways coverage.
It was the beginning of the assembly line.

Third Industrial Revolution (1960-2010)

Introduced the use of digital equipment to control and automate manufacturing processes.
It was the beginning of manufacturing processes.
Fourth Industrial Revolution (2010-?)
The 4th industrial revolution, leverages technological advancements in both the
physical and digital world to increase manufacturing capability and efficiency.
Introducing a Smart ecosystem.

“The Fourth Industrial Revolution, finally, will change not only what we do
but also who we are. It will affect our identity and all the issues associated
with it: our sense of privacy, our notions of ownership, our consumption
patterns, the time we devote to work and leisure, and how we develop our
careers, cultivate our skills, meet people, and nurture relationships.”
—Klaus Schwab
The Fourth Industrial Revolution
ARE YOU READY?

WE HAVE ALREADY ENTERED

4IR
NO WAY OUT/NO TURNING BACK
While the Fourth Industrial Revolution has the power to change many things
across a broad spectrum—
• WORK
• OPERATIONS
• SOCIETY

It is clear that the old way of doing things isn’t enough anymore, and those
who make the most impact will be the ones who embrace all facets of
Industry 4.0 and all the opportunities it will bring .

“Most School Teachers are more comfortable teaching how they were taught than how they were taught to teach.
and 4IR will also be very new to them also”
There are three key areas where humans beat machines
that are key to future job creation:
•Creative Endeavours,
everything from scientific discovery to creative writing and entrepreneurship.
•Social Interaction
robots just don’t have the kind of emotional intelligence that humans do.
•Physical Dexterity & Mobility
millennia of hiking mountains, swimming lakes and dancing practice gives
humans extraordinary agility and physical dexterity
Better Education, Right Skills
This time offers many, many opportunities for the people and organisations
who are willing and able to adapt to their new environment, and equal
dangers to those who ignore the changes.

It’s here, and executives need to be ready.

If not now, when; if not us, who?
If we don’t do it now, it may be too late.
As the challenges brought about by the fourth industrial revolution
has begun, it is high time for the education community to start a
much needed conversation and debate about how to reshape the
education system into an adaptable, flexible and relevant social
environment to ensure that the world’s population, both young people
and adults, have the means to pursue lifelong learning and acquire
the necessary skills and competencies to survive and contribute to a
rapidly changing society across different industrial revolutions.
Dear Teachers,

HELP us making good use of their time to branch out to explore other
interests and passions and to pursue what we want to do in life.

HELP us making good choices about our educational and career

pathways based on their aptitudes and aspirations.

HELP us to be ready for the future.

Thank you

Yours obediently
