INTRODUCTION
• In current days, grass cutter machines are operated
by fuel and electrical energy which are costly and
requires high maintenance. Hence, in this study, a
hand-held operated machine for grass cutting was
designed and fabricated by using locally available
materials. Important aspects such as durability,
strength, and light weight were taken into design
considerations for better performance characteristics.
The machine was powered by a 12V/12Ah
rechargeable battery which drives the DC motor up to
a rotational speed of 900 RPM. As a result, the
generated torque will be transferred to the cutting
head mechanism for efficient grass cutting. This
portable grass cutter machine can be used to
maintain and trim grass in gardens, home, schools or
yards.
 Use of Grass cutter machine

In nursery or even in house hold growing grass is

commonly found problem. Removal of the grass is
also a tedious job involving lot of human efforts. In
the modern world as time for carrying out any thing
has reduced drastically so as to be done the
removal of grass involving use of a machine.
 OBJECTIVE

• To reduce pollution of the nature.

• It requires less electricity as it is run by battery.
• An unskilled person can operate it
• To reduce the cost
• All available materials is used so if any part of the
machine is damaged it is easy to replace.
 BENEFITS
It is less costly
It is safety with no pollutants emitted
It can be used where the electricity is difficult to
reach
 The cost of electricity to recharge the battery is
minimum compared to high cost of gasoline, oil
e.t.c.
It has light weight and single person can operate
As it contains battery power so no chance for
electric shock
 LITERATURE SURVEY
Cutting grass of secondary, primary and tertiary
field thereby reducing human effort needed.
Great portion of garden, nursery or field can easily
cut by this machine in few times.
This machine reduced number of personnel that
needed in a particular farm operation.
To reduce manpower.
To improve the economy of the country.

 CONCLUSION

In the whole task we went through number of steps

where we learnt the basic design parameters of
grass cutting machine including their use and
benefits encountered by customers.
We enjoyed working on it specially many shops to
get the idea.
