Problem Statement

 Economic Dispatch (ED) is one of the major power

system operational problem
 ED is the short-term determination of the optimal output
for given units within limits
 ED is highly non-linear and multi-constrained
optimization problem
 In this work a novel Stock Exchange Algorithm (SEA) will
be used to solve ED problem. The proposed algorithm
will be mapped in MATLAB environment and tested on
standard test systems available in the literature.

Aims & Objectives

 Aim

Investigation of Economic Dispatch problem with Stock

Exchange Algorithm (SEA).
 Objectives
 SEA technique will be implemented in MATLAB
 Investigation of SEA technique for convex and non-
convex problem
 The proposed algorithm will be tested and validated on
6,13 and 15 standard test system available in literature

Literature Review
Challenges & Avenue
 ED is non-linear, non-convex with multi objective and
multi constrained optimization problem
 Evolutionary approaches or artificial intelligence (AI)
techniques have been developed for the solution of
these problem
 Aim of this research is to implement novel Stock
Exchange Algorithm (SEA) to solve ED problem. This
algorithm is inspired by the stock market in which the
shareholders buy and sell any types of shares under
different market conditions.
