MONITORING AND EVALUATION
A. Monitoring
Monitoring is the monitoring of activity
implementation Class Mothers Toddlers.
Monitoring is done by the head of community
health centre and district health service by using
the instrument. the results of monitoring and
evaluation are used as a reference to improve
the quality of the implementation of the class
mother toddler.
B. Evaluation Activities
Evaluations conducted by the evaluation device
(instrument) which is a more specific form of
checklist compiled with certain indicators
VII. RESULTS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION Results of
the implementation of the activities of the
mother class:
A.The mother of a toddler is always present on
each activity (> 90%).
B.they are always active when conducting class
mothers of toddlers.> (70%).
C.the result of the post test is greater than the
result of pre test > 90%
D.Mothers of toddlers are more interested in
reading books of KIA
E.Using of the handbook of mother and child
health is more than 80%.
VIII. IMPACT OF THIS ACTIVITY
Since the start of implementation of the class
mother toddler in 2012, there is some impact THE MOTHER TODDLER CLASS
caused, among other things:
A.The community health centre of Banjarangkan BY USING HANDBOOK OF
1st was selected as the place of practice field
of the third contry training Program on “ MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH
Strengthening District Helath Planning in the
Era of Decentralization for Improvement of the
Helath status of Children and Mothers”.
B.The achievement of Exclusive ASI in first
semester of 2014 is75,49%
C.In first semester of 2014 we have none of
toddlers with poor nutrition and but we have
toddlers with less nutrition (3,34%)
D.Since 2005 we have zero maternal mortality,
in first semester of 2014, the infant mortality
7,2/1000 and toddler mortality : 3,6 /1000
E.Coverage of complete immunization of the
baby is 100%
F.Ownership of handbook of mother and child
health in the baby is 100%

I. BACKGROUND
Through DECREE No.
284/MenKes/SK/III/2004 About Handbook Of
Maternal and Child Health , Minister of health of
INDONESIA decided Handbook Of Maternal and
Child Health as the official handbook that contains
information and records of maternal and child health.
As the official handbook, Handbook Of Maternal and
Child Health is the only one book that written about
health services of maternal and child health since
pregnant women, childbirth and during parturition
until the baby five years old.
Generally handbook of Maternal and Child
Health have shown good results that means by
increasing understanding of the mother and the
child's health. To improve utilization of handbook of
Maternal and Child Health needs to be Classroom
activities are held and this activity is called the mother
toddler class.
The Mother Toddler class is the class where the
mothers who have children aged between 0 to 5 years
jointly discuss, exchange opinions, exchange
experience about health services, nutrition and
stimulation of growth and its development guided by
a facilitator, and using handbook of Maternal and
Child Health. Mother Toddler classes held in
participatory: it means the mother is not positioned
only accepts passive position because information
tends to be ineffective in changing behavior.
Mother toddler class implementation is
implemented through community empowerment. The
activity of mother toddler class in Community Health
centre of Banjarangkan 1st has been conducted since
the year 2011 in some villages such as Bakas village,
Bungbungan village and Nyalian village. This activity
is synergized with posyandu activities, with foster of
family who have toddler and early childhood
education.
II. PURPOSE
A. General Purpose:
To improve the knowledge, attitude and
behavior of mothers using Handbook Of
Maternal and Child Health in realizing optimal of
Toddler growth and development.
B. Special Purpose:
1.Raising of mother awareness about exclusive
breast feeding .
2.Improve the mother knowledge about the
importance of Immunization in infants
3.Improve the skills of the mother in the granting
of MP-ASI (companion food of breast feeding)
and balanced nutrition to Toddlers
4.Improve the ability of the mother to monitor
the growth and development of Toddlers and
stimulation exercise
5.Improve maternal knowledge on how to
toddlers dental care and wash the hands
properly
6.Improve the mothers knowledge about the
common diseases , ways of prevention and
caring of toddlers.
III. . POTENTIAL
1.There is the existence of a culture rule of the
village that every indigenous citizen who had a
baby/toddler should come to the posyandu.(
Integrated Service Center)
2.There is the commitment of the head of the
village, community leaders, religious figures
and team the PKK (woman organisazion) to
support mothers toddlers class..
3.There is the existence of an agreement that
new students early childhood education/ play
group must attach the Handbook Of Maternal
and Child Health as the term of the
acceptance.
4.There is the existence of adequate human
resources (health volunteers and facilitator).
IV. THE PREPARATION OF THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CLASS
MOTHER TODDLER :
A. Identification of target
Organizers of the Classes Mother Toddlers
have the number of mothers who have child
between 0 to 5 years old and then separated
them tobe three groups ( the age group 0-1
year, 1-2 years, and 2-5 years).
B. Prepares the place and learning tools
C. Prepare material (flip chart paper/draft back,
papers, markers, cards, etc.)
D. Invite moms who have children aged between
0 – 5 years.
E. Prepare teams of facilitators and resource
F. Making draft budget plan
V. Organization of the Class Mother Toddler
A. Preparatory Meetings
B. The process of implementation of the mother-
toddler Class, such as :
1. Make a pleasant impression
2. Choose a topic based on the needs of mothers
3. Apply methods that are already specified
4. Discipline of the time.
