My Personal & Professional Background
• Welcome to the Kindergarten, I am Ms. Nada Al Khaja and I am the student teacher in your child’s
classroom and I am going to teach English, Math, & Science to their class for this year.
• I am studying currently on Higher Collage of Technology to be a future teacher and to teach early childhood
students. I studied education of early childhood to teach KG students and that because I love children and I
like to teach them, teaching students in their first years is so important, in the same time it is easy. I went to
many schools some of them were private schools and some of them government schools in UAE, they let us
go to different schools to practice and learn how to teach, also to let us see the differences between the

My Teaching Philosophy
• I believe that children can learn through play “According to Piaget (1969) play is a way for children to unify
experiences, knowledge and understanding” (Theories surrounding learning through play, 2016). When the
child learn through play, it will develop many skills in his body such as; physical, social, emotional, and
cognitive skills. According to Vygotsky “considered play to be important for an individual’s cognitive
development” (Theories surrounding learning through play, 2016). And developing their skills in this age is so
important, learning through playing will develop their language and communication skills with other children.
• In my teaching experience, I believe that teacher should always help the students to develop their skills, and
making learning activities and centers that will encourage them to learn. If the students love the teacher they
will learn more and the teacher will know how to deal with them. The main and important thing is the effective
relationship between the teacher and the parents, if the teacher create a good relationship with the parents she
will understand and have background about each child abilities such as; social, emotional, cognitive, and
physical abilities. Teacher should work on this abilities for the students with the parents, if there are skills that

and contact always together to help your child’s education. I am expecting from you to
attend the parents meetings always, because this will help me as a teacher to know more
about your child, and this will help me to know which skills they should develop and
also with your helping on home. By attending the parents meeting you will know about
your child’s level in the school. I will be happy if you help your child at home and let
him always practice on the lessons that they take it daily, and to do their home works.
• I expect from the children in my classroom to learn and understand the lesson that I am
teaching them, I always will make a review for all the lessons and doing practices during
the lesson so they understand. Moreover, I am going to use some strategies that will help
me to let the students focus on the lesson such as; the reward system. If the students give
me their attention in the lesson and did their practices they will learn fast and learning

My Classroom Management Strategies
• I am using some strategies for the classroom management which is the most important thing for each
teacher in the classroom. “Classroom management refers to the wide variety of skills and techniques that
teachers use to keep students organized, orderly, focused, attentive, on task, and academically productive
during a class.” (Classroom Management, 2014). Classroom management helps teachers in the classroom
to let the students be organized and focusing with her for the duration of the lesson, that’s why I am using
some strategies to manage my classroom. First strategy I use is making different tones of my voice, this
strategy help the teacher to take the student’s attention to her. Second strategy, if I ask them question and
they start talking together and making noise I raise my hands and put my other hand to my mouth so they
understand that they should raise their hands to speak. Third strategy is to make a reward system that
always work with the KG students, such as; making a table with their name and give them happy or sad
face and that encourage them to be good in the classroom. Fourth strategy is using the routine and teach
them how is the routine of the class, this make teaching easier and manage the classroom a lot.

My Key Assessment Strategies
• I am using different kinds of strategies for the assessments that I do it at the end of each lesson. I am
using open-ended questions that let them talk and this strategy help the students a lot to develop
their social skills. Also, to develop their social skills and at the same time I use it as an assessment I
let each two students share and talk to each other about what they have learned today from the
lesson and listening to them. Another strategy I use is the checklist with their names, I can use the
checklist even at the activities time or at the end of the lesson and it help me a lot as a teacher to
know the abilities of each student and what they have learned in the lesson specifically. I am asking
the students at least 3 times in the lesson to make sure that they understand the lesson clearly.
Sometimes I am using a movement activity for the closing the lesson so for example: they can move
and find the letter on the classroom so if they find it correctly that’s mean that they understand what
I taught them.

My Methods to Involve Parents
in the classroom & school
• Have a positive relationship with the parents from the first of the year, and share with them their child’s
information.
• Make an events that let the parents involve and come to the school, events that parents can work with
their children. That will help and encourage the students and the parents.
• Ask the parents about ideas and suggestions, such as; the trips, the activities they think it will help the
students, and events. Parents will appreciate this, they will like the idea that the school let them write or
• Always contact with the parents even with the emails, messages or school applications. “improving
communication involves technology such as e-mail messages and interactive phone systems” (Getting
