INTRODUCTION
 Material that reduces or prevents the transmission of heat or sound is
called “Insulation Material”..

 About “40%” of the total energy consumed in the European Union is

consumed in buildings and about half of that is lost as heat passes out
through the external walls.[1]

 The building sector is the dominant energy consumer with a total “30%”
share of the overall energy consumption. [2]
3
INTRODUCTION
 It accounts for “one-third” of the greenhouse gas emissions around the world. [3]

4 Energy loose without insulation. [4]

PROBLEM STATEMENT
 In the state of energy crisis, to minimize the usage of natural
resources i.e. natural gas and electricity.

 To stop the energy dissipation through walls and roofs by using

insulating materials.

 To recycle the material that has been the challenge and threatens the
environment.

5
OBJECTIVES
To use the economical and locally
available insulating material to reduce
the energy consumption

OBJECTIVES

To study the thermal conductivity of

Engineers Cementitious Composites.

6
SIGNIFICANCE
 Insulation is vital to most building design and aims to decrease the
need for heating and cooling.

 It will maintain a comfortable and hygienic indoor climate.

 It will maximizing return on investment.

 It will recycle the agricultural waste by using it as a composite

material in building.
