CPU
 A central processing unit is the circuitry in a computer that carries
out input and output operations
 A gigahertz is 1billion cycles per second and most processors use
around 3.0GHz
 Overclocking is a good way to make cheap cpu’s run faster but
void your warranty in most cases for tampering with the product

 The cpu I’ve picked is a Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core

Processor because this cpu is a more powerful cpu than the i5 and
can run games better
MOTHERBOARDS
• The motherboard - this is like its brain doing all of the operations here and is
where most of the computer parts are
• Form factor - when it comes to motherboards and there are atx, btx,
microbtx, miniatx and between these the main difference is in size
• RAM - short term memory is only storing when turned on
• Sata/raid connections - connect motherboard to hard drives or ssd’s
• Rear panel ports - a mother board usually has audio,usb,vga,and sometimes
hdmi unless your video card has one
• The motherboard I’m using is a msi b360 gaming plus and I picked this one
out for its good looks, 4 ram slots, and high video card compatibility
RAM
• RAM – Temporary storage
used to help store
commands and the more
ram you have the more
applications you can have
• RAM - Only in use when its
on since it isn’t storing
anything but commands
• The RAM I picked is 4 8GB
corsair vengeance LED
sticks because of their color
use and fast speed with a
total of 32 gigs of ram
GRAPHICS
CARD/GPU
• A graphics card is used to help with
processing video to the monitor
• You usually wouldn’t need one if your
mother board already has a video
processor
• The graphics card I’ve picked out is a
Msi gtx 1070 Ti
POWER SUPPLY
• Power supply unit - converts AC power to
DC power for internal parts
• For my Pc I picked an EVGA 500w 80+
bronze because it has enough power to
keep my computer running efficiently
STORAGE
SSD HARD DRIVE
• SSD- STORAGE USING FLASH MEMORY • HARD DRIVE- STORAGE USING
READ/WRITE MECHANISM WITH ONE
IN PLACE OF HARD DISKS FOR BETTER
SPEED MORE HARD DISKS
• STORAGE I PICKED FOR MY PC IS 2 • WHEN HARD DRIVES FAIL THEY START TO
SAMSUNG 250GB 2.5” SOLID STATE PRODUCE A CORRUPTED NOISE AND THE
DRIVES DISKS BECOME DANGEROUS WHILE IN
USE

• Both used for permanent storage

COOLING
HEAT SINK COOLING FANS
• Heat sink- thermal • Usually attached to heat
conductor carries heat sinks and water cooling to
away from CPU direct airflow in the
computer
• Fan size can determine
the volume of the fans
WATER COOLING
• Pushes cooled water
around CPU to keep cooled
• For the CPU I picked the
Corsair - H115i PRO 55.4
CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
• I picked a liquid cooing for
the CPU because water is
more efficient than air at
cooling
OPTICAL DRIVE/DISC DRIVE
• Disc drive- uses a laser to read discs
• A disc drive will only be needed if you
need your computer to operate with
discs
• For my pc I didn’t pick an optical drive
because for most movies and games
are moving from discs to digital
downloading
CASE
• Case- needed for keeping elements out
and cool air in and stores computer parts
• Case fans-built in to help direct airflow in
this cases design
• The case I chose was the NZXT - H440
(Matte Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case for
its nice designs and good size for parts
 PERIPHERALS
• Peripherals are any device that provides input or output for the computer

HEADPHONES KEYBOARD/MICE SPEAKERS

• Output device that allows • Input that allows the user • Output that allows
a single user to hear to navigate the computer multiple devices to play
sound from the computer and type up letters and sound in a room

• For headphones I picked numbers • For the speaker system I

the Logitech - G930 7.1 • For the keyboard and picked the Logitech -
Channel Headset mice I picked the Cougar - Z906 500W 5.1ch

1920X1080 144HZ MONITOR FOR THE CURVED SCREEN AND NICE
