ENABLEMENT is EMPOWERMENT
• Enablement is empowerment i. e. given
power to accomplish a task or purpose.
• To that extent we cannot talk of enablement
without seeking to know the purpose of the
enablement.
• In actual fact, the need for enablement
prompts the enabler to enable the enabled.
• God enables us for the need He identifies in
our lives. Why are you enabled if you are
truly enabled?
PURPOSE OF ENABLEMENT; ENABLED TO
SERVE GOD – Exodus 10:7
• We are born into the slavery of sin; labouring
for others to eat. Many of us never recognise
the slavery because it was the norm of life.
• The natural cravings of life were our task
masters.
• As teenagers these task masters rule over us
and many people who are suppose to be our
saviours such as parents and leaders are also
slaves who do not know better.
PURPOSE OF ENABLEMENT; ENABLED TO
SERVE GOD – Exodus 10:7 cont.
• We crave for intimacy through passion,
relationships, acceptance, belonging, identity
and love.
• Love itself is elusive and mysterious as sharp
as the blade of a knife. At teenage, you can’t
differentiate between love, lust and
infatuation. Some that are injured with
teenage love never recover through life
unless they meet with Jesus Christ the great
physician.
PURPOSE OF ENABLEMENT; ENABLED TO
SERVE GOD – Exodus 10:7 cont.
• Teenagers and many of us as adults also crave
for the meaning to life. The book of Ecclesiastics
is the reflection of Solomon’s quest for meaning
to life. He was financially rich, politically
powerful as a king, spiritually blessed as a man
of peace but his curiosity as a youth made him
to seek meaning to life in a wrong direction and
thus got frustrated. Craving for meaning to life
leads to imagination, questions, believing,
reasoning, the issue of truth, trust, mystery and
faith.
PURPOSE OF ENABLEMENT; ENABLED TO
SERVE GOD – Exodus 10:7 cont.
• In Exodus 10:7 The council of the taskmasters
recognised that the Hebrews were empowered,
not with guns or arrows but a force that they
could not de- mystified, they recognised God as
the power behind His children. And they said to
Pharaoh to let go of the Hebrews to go and serve
their God.
• To break off from the slavery of sin must be to
serve God.
PURPOSE OF ENABLEMENT; ENABLED TO
SERVE GOD – Exodus 10:7 cont.
• At teenage we crave for destiny with dreams,
desires, ambition, becoming, success,
significance, progress, optimism and hope.
And in all these pursuit many a time we are
confused and we seek meaning to life.
• Teenagers crave for meaning to life even
when they hardly discuss it with anyone. I
am always happy when any of these ones
come clean with me and give me the chance
to share with them of my experience of life.
Process of Enablement – 1 John 2:14.
John 17:17, Prov. 6:23, 2 Tim. 3:16
• As children our parents give laws of Dos and
Don’ts and then we become teenagers and
we are expected to use our discretions most
of the time.
• Without the laws, we may not understand
how to use discretions. The law is given to
empower us to teenage so that our discretion
will align with the will of our parents.
Process of Enablement – 1 John 2:14.
John 17:17, Prov. 6:23, 2 Tim. 3:16
• In the same way, we are given the laws of
God to guide us as young Christians but now
we should know that the will of God should
be our pursuit.
• The enabled are those who have embrace the
law of God in their heart so as not to abuse
the grace in Christ Jesus.
• They do not trust in their own power but in
the power of Christ Jesus through His Holy
Spirit to please God the Father.
Altar Call
• They are not concern about self image but how
their lives rob on the image of God as their father,
they have overcome guilt through geneuine
repentance and acceptance of forgiveness in
Christ Jesus.
• Christ Jesus is all in all to them that are enabled,
without pride they boldly face challenges of life
with hope to make heaven eventually because
this world is wilderness to them.
• Are you enabled? You can be today, if you will
repent and genuinely accept Jesus Christ as your
Lord and Saviour.
