 In speaking, we have to concern the pronunciation. We
have to pay attention to our pronunciation. So, What is
Pronunciation?
 Pronunciation is the way we pronounce/say the word.
Pronunciation means how we say words or the way in
which a language is usually spoken.
Why Pronunciation is important?
 Pronunciation is also important beside grammar and vocabulary.
 Why is Pronunciation important? because it can prevent
misunderstanding in communication caused by
mispronouncing of words. Let’s take a few examples: if someone
pronounces the words fog and fox, sea and she, sick and six with
relatively no differences, in some cases can lead to a
misunderstanding.
 good pronunciation can also give a plus value to those who
master it. good pronunciation skill can give you more self-
confidence when you speak in front of many people
 By using phonetic symbol, we can easily pronounce the word,
sentence.
 What is phonetic symbol? Phonetic symbol is a symbol of
various speech sounds.
In this section, we will study
various phonetic symbol.
Phonetic symbols help us to understand the way in
which the sounds of a language are formed and help us
to detect and correct the mistakes made by ourselves.
