PEOPLE
The system is café management system. With a new system,
there are many organizational changes. People is one of the organizational
changes that will be faced. People who are used to manual system have
difficulty when using computerized system. They have to be trained to use
the hardware and software. Therefore, there needs to be time for training so
system cannot be used immediately.
When they know how to use the equipment, they have to learn
how to input database into the system, so that they can update the data in
the system daily. In this way, management will be efficient and data-loss will
be prevented. Accurate data can be stored for the café.
MISSION & STRATEGY
Café’s strategy is an organizational change that is aligned to
change of a new system.
CULTURE
Culture is also one of the biggest organizational changes that is
affected by new system. Working habits are changed since staff have to use
the computerized system from manual system. The staff are used to
recording data by hand and books. Thus, when they had to change the
recording way to computerized, they have difficulty working with software
and databases. Principles and norms also change along with working habits.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge also change according to the creation of new system.
When system is to be handled with software and hardware, staff need to
have a knowledge on how to solve the problem. For example, software can
run out of license, hardware can broke, or there could be virus in the
computer. So, in order to keep the data safe, actions have to be made
carefully and staff need to have knowledge about these kinds of problem.
TECHNOLOGY
Technology as an organizational change can be linked to
knowledge and working habit. When staff (people) have to use tools in
computerized system, there is changes to the working habit. They need
training to use a technology infrastructure system. They need to have
knowledge on how to use hardware and software to control the management
system. Therefore, they need training. Technology is a major organizational
change for the café since everything needs to be arranged again. Staff have
to change their working styles and skills.
PROCESS
Process is also have a big impact on the new system. When
business process is changed from manual system to computerized system,
there is a huge difference in the processes. The processes mostly change the
business’ strategy.
